After weeks and weeks of playing the name game we finally decided on
Justin Richard Hainke
(His middle name is after
Brandon's Grandpa Schmidt)
I'm glad that is over! It's
nice to know we both picked a name we liked and are excited about.
A
few weeks ago my mom and I got one piece of our baby room project complete. We
finished the crib bumper. I had some fun hanging out with her, learning a few
new things about sewing and am very happy with the way it turned out! We are
waiting until the painting is done and crib is in the room to get a feel for
the colors of the curtains and crib skirt.
However,
we will be waiting on the curtains and crib skirt for this reason...
So... We had a little
accident.
We were about half the way done
painting the room. I was rolling on one wall and Brandon was painting the high
parts up on the ladder. He forgot that he had a left a large, thick
coffee cup full of paint up on top of the ladder and moved it... Of course, the
cup falls to the ground but not before breaking over top of Brandon's head.
Paint not only went all over the carpet like the above picture, but also
splattered ALL OVER the closet doors, door to the room and in to the hallway!
We had a mess!!!! We both looked at each other and didn't say much. We were
both in shock; however, Brandon was slightly knocked silly which may be one of
the reasons as to why not much was said. There was a bed in the middle of the
room that we planned on selling so we started cleaning there and then scraped
and scrubbed the doors. We had paint all over us, our feet, the floor and
our supplies. We decided the carpet was going to be a loss cause and
finished painting the room without saying a whole lot. =)
Happier
times... Before the spill.
Got my diaper bag in the mail
today! Can't wait to fill it!
I've
posted in the past that both my sister-in-laws, Amanda and Carli, are expecting
boys and both are due very soon! Austin and Tyler can pretty much make their
way in to the world any day now. This Sunday we are getting together and having
pictures taken of the three of us with our prego bellies. Can't wait to see how
they turn out!
Finally,
my best friend Colleen is due exactly 1 month and 1 day before me with a little
girl. I did a little sewing on my days off and
made her a blanket and burp rags to match her nursery.
12
weeks to go!
First off, you look great! I feel so bad for you with that paint mess! The color is wonderful though and the bumper you made is awesome;) Love that name too! I remember feeling so much more connected once we chose the name for our kids;)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I feel the same way about the name... It's nice to be able to call him something other than baby. =) Hope you are doing well! Love following your blog!
