8 weeks and counting...

This past Wednesday we had our second follow-up appointment.  We were both so excited because this time we were actually going to see our little baby for the first time and hear the heartbeat! When we arrived we went straight back for the ultrasound. The tech had a hard time finding the tiny baby at first because my intestines were not cooperating at all and were making it very difficult to see.  Finally, after some pushing and moving things around we finally got the first glimpse of our little peanut. 

8 to 9 weeks

It was so amazing to actually hear and see the heartbeat at the same time. It's heart rate was about 173.  The doctor said we both looked good and healthy.  Our due date may or may not be pushed back to October 25 depending on what size the baby is at our next appointment.  We are changing doctor's and will get a second opinion at the end of the month.

I am also excited to announce that there will be 4 new babies in the family come this Christmas.  My two sis-in-laws, Amanda and Carli, are also expecting two weeks apart from each other in August.  My best friend, Colleen who also lives down the street from me, is expecting in September.  I can't wait to share this experience with each of them and to raise our kids so close to one another!

How far along? 8 to 9 weeks

Total weight gain: 2 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Not yet. No longer wearing my uniform at work though. That's always a good thing. =)
Stretch marks? None yet!
Sleep: Good nights and bad nights.

Morning Sickness? Yes. =( Mostly in the morning and at night before bed.
Best moment this week: Seeing our baby and hearing the heart beat for sure!
Miss Anything? Yes. Coffee and normal food.
Movement: None yet.
Food cravings: Oh yes. Taco Bell bean burritos. Why? I have no clue... Seems to be the only thing that sounds good and doesn't upset my stomach. Brandon seems to think this is hilarious.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Meat and an empty stomach.
Gender: Not sure yet... Seems to be split between a girl and boy. Mom seems to think my sis-in-laws and I are all having boys. We shall see...
Labor Signs: None. Let's hope it stays that way for a while... a long while...
Symptoms: Just an upset stomach.
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy &  tired!
Looking forward to: Seeing the baby again soon!

Baby Hainke is on it's way...!

After trying for a baby for almost 6 months I am excited to announce 

Baby Hainke is on it's way! 

I broke the exciting news to Brandon Sunday, February 12th after keeping it to myself for almost 24 hours! While he was getting ready for work Saturday night he suggested I take what he thought was an early test. Having a feeling that I might just be in fact pregnant I ignored his suggestion and changed the subject. =) He finished getting ready, I kissed him goodbye and he was on his way. After I knew he was gone I took the test. Sure enough, it came back POSITIVE!

 I barely made it through the next day at work and couldn't wait to get home to tell him. I picked up a daddy pregnancy book on the way home from work that day. I had it all laid out on the kitchen counter waiting for him when he came home from the gym.

He walked straight over to the counter where I was sitting next to the stuff. He didn't even notice it all sitting there! Finally, he looked down and asked "Are you pregnant?!?!" It was priceless! He couldn't believe it. The best part of the whole thing was when he asked for some water! I guess it's better than a beer. =)

Baby Hainke is expected to arrive October 20, 2012!
